The Chandler Gilbert Arc currently operates 13 residential settings in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Prescott.  Our settings are located in traditional neighborhoods and communities and have up to 24 hours of customized and comprehensive support for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.  Chandler Gilbert Arc’s residential sites serve anywhere from 2-4 residents and approximately 50 individuals. These homes are designed to facilitate growth for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities through choice, experience, guidance and respect.

Chandler Gilbert Arc offers a person centered philosophy that focuses on the opportunities, aspirations, goals and needs of the people we support. We work closely with the team to determine the best options available for your loved one. Our homes and apartments offer a caring, inviting, and compassionate space to facilitate personal growth, opportunities to learn and to overcome challenges. Chandler Gilbert Arc’s homes are clean, nicely decorated, welcoming and as a result helps facilitate the best possible outcomes assisting our members to achieve personal accomplishments and become valued members of their community.

Chandler Gilbert Arc welcomes individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities as well as individuals with complex medical and behavioral challenges. We strive to facilitate the foundation of significant relationships between our staff and our members and between our members and their communities. Our well trained staff assists and teaches the individuals in everything from personal care to home management skills such as laundry, menu planning, meal preparation, shopping and budgeting. These services are provided in a family atmosphere, which is an environment where people thrive, with great attention given to the rights and privacy as well as self-advocacy skills of the individuals we serve. Weekend and evening outings in the community not only provide our members with the opportunity to have fun, but also serve to provide opportunities to learn recreational and socialization skills.

Chandler Gilbert Arc operates semi-independent living programs for persons who may not qualify for traditional apartment living programs. These single bedroom apartments are the final step towards independent living. Besides receiving training in community living skills (i.e. cooking, budgeting, menu planning, laundry) these individuals also learn skills such as how to plan recreational activities, how to use the public transportation system, etc. The individuals are encouraged to participate in community activities on an independent basis as well as congregate activities such as picnics, trips, parties, barbecues, etc. Staff serve as role models to promote independent thinking and self-advocacy.
